The Mounted Branch of the Lancashire Constabulary use Stable Sounds CD’s to help with training their horses.

Some people will dismiss a training method solely on the basis that it cannot be found in a book or because it is not taught on any equestrian course. This is an attitude that prevents progress and learning. All animals are unique and therefore, what has already been learned, written about and taught cannot be more than a starting point. Everything that is written and taught was once new and innovative. Get to know the animal in front of you and never be afraid to go beyond the text book, the views of the teacher - or conformity. There is only one rule: never use force and pain.

Help your horse through the shooting season. The fireworks CD will help to desensitise your horse to the sound of guns.

If you have a young horse and he is happy with loading and staying in the box,  play the traffic CD while he is in there so he gets used to the sound of traffic  (start with very low volume). This is a good idea for  young horses (preferably before their first journey), those with traffic problems and any horse about to start travelling again after a break.

Your feedback  is very welcome…… Please use the box at the bottom of the page  - or the contact form if you would like to add more information than these questions allow. Although the results of the poll will be shown on site, your personal details will remain private.

Low flying aircraft are a fact of modern life.  As best they can, the RAF try to avoid equestrians but as we all know,  avoidance is not always possible.

The Low flying Aircraft CD does make a difference. It will at least minimise your horse’s  reactions - probably much more.
